Willie Frank Earls Jr. "Jiggs', 73, died at his home in Liberty, on Oct. 14, 2004. Funeral services were held on Oct. 16 at Allison Funeral with the Reverend Tony Hines officiating. Burial followed in the Cooke Memorial Cemetery in Liberty. 

He was born on July 4, 1931, in Hamilton, the son of Willie Frank Earls, Sr., and Ellie Frances Catron Earls. 

He was married to Margaret Gregory on Dec. 4, 1953. Mr. Earls was a heavy equipment operator and a construction worker. He was a member of the Baptist Church and the V.F.W. Post # 5621 and he enjoyed old movies, fishing, and his war buddies at the V.F.W. Post 5621. 

Survivors include his wife, Margaret G. Earls; a son, Ricky Lynn Earls of Hull; a daughter and son-in-law, Brenda Ann and Sid Haley of Liberty; granddaughters, Alicia and Ryan Faerber, Ashley Fore, Danielle and Kevin Frederick, Mirinda Haley and Valerie Baker and two great grandsons, Noah Candelier and Ethan Fore

EDWARDS, ZENA MAUD (WHISTLER) (EDWARDS) (LODEN)  

The Hamilton Herald-News July 1, 2004 

Zena Maud Whistler Edwards Loden Edwards, 95, died June 26, 2004. Funeral services will be held June 29 in the Evant Funeral Chapel with Rev. Keith Felton officiating. Burial will follow in Pilgrims Rest Cemetery near Evant. 

She was born June 28, 1909, the daughter of Bertha Hutchison Whistler and John Ross Whistler in Del Rio. Mrs. Whistler was married to Buster Earl Edwards on May 28, 1927. They had six children during their 23 year union: Robert Earl, Annalouise, McNeill Whistler, Bertha Sue, Thelma Dee, and James Owen Edwards. Their marriage ended in divorce. 

On Nov. 13, 1952, she married Jimmie Morris Loden. They reared their family on a farm in Coryell County. 

Following a divorce from Jim Loden, she was remarried to Buster Edwards on April 7, 1978, and lived in Valentine until he preceded her in death. 

Mrs. Edwards lived a long and remarkable life. She considered her greatest accomplishment in life rearing seven children, and she managed to make each one feel as special as an only child. Her family was always foremost in her love and life. 

She was an accomplished musician, playing the piano and singing throughout her life. She also wrote music, poetry, and stories. She was a lifelong member of the First Baptist Church and an active member of her community. She loved life and all the people she encountered along the way. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her children, McNeill, Thelma; her husbands, Jim Loden and Buster Edwards; her brothers Johnnie and Clyde; a grandson Jason Clark and a nephew Jack Whistler. 

Survivors include her children Bob and Carolyn Edwards, Anna Bell, Jim and Kate Edwards, Bert Clark, John and Reta Loden; her grandchildren, Meg and Clyde Bailey, Sue and Vernon Medlock, John O. and Dolores Bell, Shayla Clark, Jeff, Walter and Amber Edwards, Jennifer and Jonathan Greenfield, Sam and Lori McGee, Michelle and Paul Viers, Charles and Denise Gray and Dayrl Easterling and his wife Amanda Loden Easterling; 13 grandchildren; nine great- grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; 10 nieces and nephews and 19 great-nieces and nephews; a devoted daughter-in-law, Kate Edwards. 

Pallbearers were Walter Edwards, Daryl Easterling, Sam McGee, Charles Gray, James Elam, Roy Bates. 

Honorary pallbearers were John O. Bell, Kyle Arnold, Weldon Chambers, Eldon Chambers and Keith Suggs.

ELLIOTT, MURLIN EFFORD

Murlin Efford Elliott, 81, died Nov. 15 in Community Nursing and Rehab Center, Stephenville. 

He was born Aug. 8, 1921 in Comanche, the son of Stokley Monroe Elliott and Mary Elizabeth (Irby) Elliott. 

Mr. Elliott was married to Elmeree Hicks in Comanche on Oct. 1, 1940. He served three terms as Comanche County Commissioner and was a member of Gartman View Free Will Baptist Church. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers and five sisters. 

Survivors include his wife; three daughters, Linda Janner and husband Carl, Debbie Reynolds and husband Ray and Janice Reeves and husband Robert; two granddaughters, Shannon Janner Hopper and Carlie Reynolds Wylie; four grandsons, Dirk Janner, Chris Reynolds, Jayson Reeves and Zachary Reeves; great-grandchildren, Ashlee Hopper, Hollie Hopper, Kelcie Hopper, Baylee Hopper, Lance Hopper, Dustin Janner, Dylan Janner, Coe Janner and Ashlea Janner, Garland Janner and a brother, Ardell Elliott of Comanche.

ERCANBRACK, MARTHA JO (GRIZZLE) 

The Hamilton Herald-News November 25, 2004 

Martha Jo Ercanbrack, 72, of Clifton died Nov. 15, 2004 at the Clifton Lutheran Sunset Home. Graveside funeral services were held Nov. 18 at Kempner City Cemetery in Kempner. 

She was born Nov. 24, 1931 in Burnet County, the daughter of Wiley Grizzle and Stella Ann Ellason Grizzle. She lived in Clifton for the past several months and in Hamilton for a few years. The majority of her life she lived in Lampasas, graduating from Lampasas High School in 1949. She was a homemaker and a Baptist by faith. 

Survivors include her son, Danny Hart and wife Linda of Burleson; two sisters, Wilma Jean Thompson of Auburn, Maine and Mary Lou Shivley of Akron, Ind; two grandchildren, Nina Walker and Stephen Hart, both of Arlington and two great-grandchildren, Lark and Austin Walker, both of Arlington as well as numerous cousins, nephews and friends. 

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Earl Foster Ercanbrack on Dec. 24, 1987 and a brother, Wiley Grizzle Jr.

ELLIS, ELSIE LEE (GRIGGS) 

The Hamilton Herald-News June 2, 2005 

Elsie Lee Griggs Ellis died May 28, 2005 in Hamilton, Texas. Funeral services were held May 31 at Riley Funeral Home. 

Mrs. Ellis was born on September 15, 1906 in Youngsport, the daughter of Charlie and Julia Griggs of Belton. She was known to many as Aunt Bobbie or Mimi. 


She served the community in many capacities. She was head cook at the Hamilton School District for twenty-seven years and cooked at Hurley’s Nursing Home during the summer months. In addition, she served the community in the nursery at the First Baptist Church. She enjoyed quilting, cook-ing and spending time with her family. 

Ms. Ellis was preceded in death by her parents; four brothers and a sister. 

Survivors include her daughter, Gwen Wallace; three grandsons, Donnie, Michael and Larry Wallace; her great-grandchildren, Monica Andrews, Misty Gann, Michelle Neal, Bradley Wallace, Marissa Wallace, Jaime Wallace and Jordan Wallace; great-great-grandchildren: Kasidee Wallace and Elijah Neal.

EOFF, HELEN (DuROSS) 

Helen Eoff, 80, died Jan. 15, 2005 at the Plaza Medical Center in Fort Worth. Funeral services were held Jan. 18 at Harrell Memorial Chapel with Dean Bradley officiating. Burial will follow at Gray Cemetery in Beaver County, Okla. 

Mrs. Eoff was born March 25, 1924 in Morgan, the daughter of Jesse Charles DuRoss and Gladys Eual Hammonds. She was a medication technician and a member of Park Street Baptist Church. She was married to Noiel Edgar Eoff on Sept. 3, 1940 in Meridian. He preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by two sons, Gary and Eddie Eoff. 

Survivors include two sons, Charles "Chuck" and wife Judy Eoff of Sulphur Springs and Mike and wife Debbie Eoff of Hamilton; two daughters, Mary Ann and husband Jim Wilson of Everman and Shirley Eoff of San Angelo; a daughter-in-law, Jackie Eoff of China Spring; nine grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

ERWIN, B. C. "BOB"

B. C. (Bob) Erwin, 78, died July 7, 2003 in Houston. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, W. A. and Beulan Erwin; a sister, Trula Vanghn and a brother, S. W. (Vesta) Erwin. 

Survivors include his wife, Ruth Erwin; two daughters, Rita Ilfrey and Sheila Chance; a son, Boyce Erwin; four grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Edwin Erwin and J. W. (Jake) Erwin; three sisters, Willa Mae Milliorn, Estelene (Kit) Grisham and Sara Derrick as well as a number of nieces and nephews.

EVETT, JOANNE (MAXWELL) 

Joanne Evett, 46, of Sidney, died Nov. 11 in Comanche. Funeral services were held Nov. 19 at the Comanche Funeral Home Chapel with Judge James R. Arthur and Rev. Jerry Shields officiating. Burial will be in the Gardens of Memory Cemetery in Comanche County. 

She was born Jan. 9, 1956 in Fort Worth, the daughter of Joe Maxwell and Doris (Miller) Maxwell. She was married to James Milton Evett on July 12, 1974 in Comanche and the couple owned and operated E.S.E., Inc. Wholesale Petroleum. She was a member of East Side Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her father and a brother. 

Survivors include her husband; two sons, Jonathan Evett and Jay Evett; a granddaughter, Madison Page Evett; her mother, Doris Maxwell; a sister, Connie Moe; special friends, Bobby and Cindy Newman, Stephen and Christy Harris. Comanche Funeral Home
