James Edward Corrigan, Jr.
(father of Bradford Corrigan) was born in 1852 in Michigan City,
Indiana, and came to Texas in 1868 and settled in Hico. James
Edward Corrigan, Jr. was employed on 24 October, 1879, as the teacher
in the Hico School by the trustees W. B. Hickman and J.
F. Hutchinson.
Professor Ben Randals and his
wife Sarah Lusk Randals came to Hico in the 1890's from Tennessee.
Prof. Randals opened the Hico Advance School. Randals
would not enroll more students than he could personally teach.
The 1924-25 Hico School Board included E. H.
Persons, Dr. Charles M. Hall, C. D. Richbourg, J. A. Guyton, H. L. Leach,
Will Petty, and R. O. Henley. Hico teachers in 1924-25 were B.
E. McGlamery, Clyde D. King, Ruth Kerby, Miss Ottis Bernett, Miss Gertrude
Vaden, Mrs. F. M. Mingus, Miss Charlotte Mingus, Miss Bernice Kee, Miss
Lois Barrow, Miss Clara Deihslmann, Mrs. R. O. Segrest, and Miss
Julia Holden.

several years.
