Mattie Elizabeth Beall, 92, of Hamilton, died in Forest
Oaks Nursing Home on Friday, Oct. 7. Funeral services were held in Riley
Funeral Home Chapel on Monday, Oct. 10, with Dr. George Tolbert
officiating and Jim Sullenger assisting. Burial was in McGirk Cemetery.
Mrs. Beall was born in the Shaw Bend community of Mills
County on Aug. 18, 1896, the daughter of the late Alexander and Emma
Elizabeth Shaw Miller. She married Thomas Ross Beall in April 1915. He
preceded her in death on Sept. 9, 1937. She was retired from the retail
sales business. She was a longtime Hamilton resident and a member of
Park Heights Church of Christ.
Survivors include two daughters, Kathleen Wicker of
Clovis, N.M. and Jean Sylvester of Hamilton and Santa Fe, N.M.; a
sister, Emma Lou Waldrep of Beeville; six grandchildren; and 13 great
grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, B.T. Beall, two
sisters and four brothers.
Pallbearers were Jim Adams, Milton Harelik, Bud Vick,
Pete Jordan and Jack Davidson.
