The B. & G. Chevrolet Company is composed of S. E.
Blair and George B. Golightly, the latter being the manager of the
Hamilton house and Mr. Blair managing the business at Hico.
George B. Golightly [George Burl
Golightly] was born in Birmingham, Ala., and
came to Texas with his parents in 1892, settling on a farm near Hico. He
is a graduate of McElhaney Academy at Stephenville and Metropolitan
Business College of Dallas. He moved to Hico in 1916 and for twelve years
was connected with the Hico National Bank. In March 1828 [sic--1928]
he and S. E. Blair formed a partnership and purchased Craig Bros.
Chevrolet Co. Mr. Blair taking charge of the Hico business and Mr.
Golightly assuming the management of the Hamilton business.
George Golightly is affiliated with the Masonic Lodge
and takes an active part in civic affairs of Hamilton.
The B. & G. Chevrolet Company is one of the strictly
up-to-date institutions of this section, and is operated with a view to
the maintenance of an establishment that serves their patrons in a
satisfactory manner. It is commodiously and conveniently arranged.
The satisfaction the many Chevrolets are now giving
their owners can only be surpassed in the new Chevrolets they buy. The
present models on display offer a wide selection of body types, all of
which are true of Chevrolet quality. The most prominent mechanical new
feature is the "Knee Action" front axle. This makes it one of
the smoothest riding cars on the market today and if you doubt this
statement "just drive it five miles."
A special feature is their service to Chevrolet owners.
This means that they have men who have had wide experience on these cars
and therefore when you leave your car here you know that it will be in the
hands of exerts. They also specialize in paint and body works and have the
necessary equipment to turn out a first-class job.
Besides being dealers for the Chevrolet cars and trucks,
the B. & G. Chevrolet Company carry a complete line of parts for
Chevrolet cars, batteries, tires, and tubes.
In this Historical and Trade Expansion Edition of The
