Station on Old Evant road, Meeks Bros., Independent Station, located on
northeast corner of the square, and Meeks Hatchery.
G. B. Meeks was born in Van Zandt county in the year
1882. He came to Hamilton in 1927 and opened the first independent service
station here on the old Evant road in 1931. He has associated with his
sons. Several months ago they opened the Meeks Bros. Independent Station
and the Meeks Hatchery, located on the northeast corner of the square.
They put in a mammoth Buckeye incubator and enjoyed a good business during
the season just closed.
Mr. Meeks has gas and oil from independent refiners and
is therefore in a position to sell high grade gasoline and oils at a low
price. His station also carries a line of auto accessories and Holco and
Ace batteries, which are first class batteries and are priced right. They
carry a guarantee that counts and is backed up by both Mr. Meeks and the
company.
These businesses are being built on the policy of square
and fair dealings with all, as well as prompt and courteous treatment.
Mr. Meeks is interested in church work and everything
that stands for the upbuilding of Hamilton and Hamilton county.
