ONDEE

Katherine Grant Olson recalled in July, 2000, that Ondee, was located southeast of Olin.  Ondee was a stagecoach stop on the old Hamilton-Hico Road on the north side of the Leon River in the 1890's and early 1900's.  To reach Ondee it was necessary to cross Boggy Creek on what is now CR 204 before winding down toward the Leon as they crossed the Rainwater property.  That would have placed Ondee relatively near Providence Baptist Church, which is on the south side of the Leon River.  Gum Branch School and the Preacher Cemetery were in the Ondee Community.  In 2003 the location of Ondee (which is no more) was between US281 and the old US281--now CR203-- north of the Leon River.  It was north of the Leon River and south of Olin.
