Mr. Phelps came from Wisconsin to Hamilton in 1895 and settled on a section of land owned by him near town. He also bought a half interest in the mill and gin built in 1896 by J. G. Williams & Bro. In Hamilton. Phelps was a master machinist.

The County News has been informed that Mrs. Phelps now lives at Waco.
