W. T. THOMPSON, 1897

Mr. Thompson was born in Alabama in 1852, came to Texas when only six months old, and settled at Old Hico in Hamilton County in 1869. In 1897 he owned 2,000 acres of; and. 1,500 sheep and 200 head of cattle. Said the 1897 Herald:

He is a man who possesses the happy faculty of attending strictly to his own business, and in this respect he is superior to many."

He was a cousin of the well-known Captain Saxon of Hamilton history.
