W. F. & J. F. BARNES LUMBER CO.
This institution was founded by Capt. C. L. Johnson in
1907. Back in the days when lumber was transported from
Gatesville to the building site in wagons drawn by horses or mules.
In the picture above you will see some of the pioneers of Hamilton.
Captain Johnson had faith in the future of this county and continued to
conduct this business until advanced age forced him to retire in 1917, at
which time it was purchased by its present owners. We believed in
the future of Hamilton at that time and find that our faith has been fully
justified. a large portion of the buildings of this city and
surrounding territory are constructed from materials purchased from this
pioneer institution. Through Square dealing and service this
business has grown with the county. See us regarding your building
problems.
