Otto Belcher
Otto Belcher, 76, of Elkhorn City, died at 11 a.m. Saturday, May
29, 1999, at his home. He was born in Pike County, Jan. 3, 1923, a
son of the late James Emmitt and Maudie Adkins Belcher. He was
a coal miner, a World War II veteran, and a member of the
Sulphur Springs Old Regular Baptist Church. He is survived by
his wife, Allene Ratliff Belcher; nine sons, Jeff Belcher, Elster
Belcher, Woody Belcher, Ricky Belcher and Brian Belcher, all of
Elkhorn City, Trent Belcher of Ashcamp, Joey Belcher of Johns
Creek, Timothy Belcher of Regina, Matthew Belcher of Sycamore;
one daughter, Gloria Belcher of Elkhorn City; one brother, Jack R.
Belcher of Pikeville; two sisters, Delores Hounshell of Tennessee
and LaVern Ratliff of Elkhorn City; eight grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren. Funeral services were held at 1 p.m.
Monday, May 31, at the Sulphur Springs Old Regular Baptist
Church with Charles Wright, Jimmy Dale Sanders, and Howard
Denton Murphy officiating. Burial followed in the Belcher family
plot, Elkhorn City Cemetery. Arrangements were under direction
of J.W. Call & Son Funeral Home of Pikeville. Graveside military
rites were conducted by the DAV.

Edith Belcher Coleman, 74, of Birchleaf, VA, died September 20th
2000, in the Heritage Hall in Grundy, VA.
Edith was born in Buchanan County VA.
Edith was a daughter of the late Fred and Isa Clevinger Belcher.
Edith was the wife of Arthur E. Coleman.
Edith is survived by her sister Exie Clevinger; and several nieces
and nephews.
Edith was buried in the Coleman Family Cemetery in Haysi, VA.
Edith was preceded in death by three brothers, Harold Belcher,
Ennis Belcher and Stanton Belcher; and sister Delma Johnson.

Roberta was a daughter of Burton Osborne and AlmaEvelyn

Roberta was preceded in death by her parents and brother,
Burton Edgar "Eddie" Belcher, and one half-brother, Bruce
Belcher.
Roberta is survived by half-sister Linda Belcher; her nieces
Angela Carol Perkins and Amy Lorraine Perkins; nephews,
Eric Allen Perkins, Keith Bruce Dye,Robert Burton "Bobby"
Dye; and several aunts and uncles.

There is a direct road to the cemetery from Hwy 80. The road is rough. The entrance to the cemetery is up a steep,
small hill with no steps. (Medical note: trees over hang the road and the cemetery; if visiting, use some type of bug repellent--the chiggers are terrible and cost the transcriber�s family a doctor�s visit.) The cemetery is accessbile only through the yard of the Swiney home.
