In the name of God amen, I LETTIS SNILLINGS, of the County of Wake and the State of North Carolina being of sound
and perfect mind and memory but week in body by health do make and ordain this to be my last Will and Testament in manner and form following that is to say,
1st I give & bequeath unto my beloved son HUGH SNILLING, Ten shillings to him and his heirs and assigns forever. I give & bequeath unto my beloved daughter,
*RIGHT BASS, Ten shillings to her and her heirs and assigns. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son-in-law JORDAN CHAVIS Ten shillings to him and his heirs
and assigns forever. I give and bequeath unto my beloved son CURTIS SNELLINGS Ten shillings to dispose of as he sees cause.
I give and bequeath unto my two beloved grand sons the sons of CURTIS SNELLINGS (to wit) LEMUEL SNILLINGS and CALVIN SNILLINGS one feather bed & furniture
to each of them and a third one to be equally divided between them and I give and bequeath unto my two above named Grand sons LEMUEL SNILLINGS and CALVIN
SNILLINGS all the rest of my Household and Kitchen furniture of every description what soever that I die possessed of to be to them and their heirs and
assigns forever and I give and bequeath to my two above named grandsons LEMUEL and CALVIN after paying off the other legacies all all my just debts, if any
all my stock of every kind to be them, their heirs and assigns forever. And my will and desire is that after my decease my beloved son CURTIS SNILLINGS take
all the above named property into his possession for the safe keeping until his two above named sons (to wit) LEMUEL & CALVIN arrive at the age of twenty
one years or marries, and whichever of the two events shall first happen then the property to be given up to them and equal division made between them both
and to be to them their heirs and assigns forever. I constitute and appoint my son CURTIS SNILLINGS and of the County and State aforesaid Executor of this
my last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof I the said LETTIS SNILLINGS have hereunto set my hand and Seal this 2d day of April 1814.

The foregoing last Will and Testament of LETTIS SNILLINGS was in open court offered for probate and proven by the oath of ANDREW HARTSFIELD a subscribing
witness thereto and ordered to be recorded.
*Note: Right Bass was actually the son-in-law, Lettice's daughter was Tabatha.
(This was LETTIS CHAVIS, b. abt 1742, daughter of WILLIAM CHAVIS & FRANCES GIBSON of Granville County. She was the widow of AQUILLA SNELLING [1723-1779],
who was the son of AQUILLA SNELLING & MARY GOAR of Middlesex County, Virginia. Her son, CURTIS SNELLING, was married to SYLVANIA EVANS) |
