JOHN PETTIFORD, my brother, died 10 November 1898

JESSE RATTLEY died 10 May 1904, in the eighty-second year of his age -- united with the Presbyterian Church in 1870-2 and was made ruling elder immediately after. "I have no doubt now that I had at first" were his last words as to his eternal state.

NARCISSA RATTLEY died 1 March 1914, age 84; buried 2 March 1914

SYLVESTER RATTLEY, first born-child and son of JESSE and NARCISSA RATTLEY, died from a car accident at 3:25 a.m. Sunday, 13 October 1929, struck by car in front of Mount Pleasant Presbyterian Church. He lived in Franklinton from boyhood --shoemaker, merchant in his town, and a great builder of the town and Church. He was buried 15 October 1929 at Franklinton Cemetery.

MILBRAIN SPEED died 1 or 1 April 1932 in Bristol, Tennessee, and is buried in the plot in Henderson, North Carolina.
JESSE SPEED PARK, daughter of JULIA and MILBRAIN SPEED, died January 1940 and is buried in Bristol, Tennessee.

"GLATHA had eleven children, WILIE, WILLIAM, MARTHA, NARCISSA, GILLIE, JOHN, MERNERVA, JAMES, ELIJA, SALLIE, GLATHA."

This was Family of GLATHA PETTIFORD (dau/of GILLIE PETTIFORD, who was daughter of PHILLIP PETTIFORD and PATIENCE BASS) in 1850 & 1860 Franklin Co.

GILLIE CATHERINE WILLIAMS, was b. 1832 Franklin Co,NC, d/o GLATHA PETTIFORD (wife of ELIJAH LOCUST). GILLIE married 1st on Sept.16, 1851 to GEORGE W. RICHARDSON (b.1830 Halifax Co./d. Aug 1869, Johnston Co,NC, in a railroad accident. He was the son of GIDEON & PEGGY RICHARDSON of Nash Co,NC. GILLIE remarried to an Unknown WILLIAMS before she died.
