Sarah Blancette: She was Benjamin's first wife (followed by Catherine Tucker) and they had one child, John Shacklette b. 1747.

Note from Norma:

A lady from Illinois wrote me several years ago, telling me what she knew about the Shacklettes. She was in her 80's and I believe has since passed away. I have tried and tried to find the papers she sent me but they seem to be misplaced, but I will keep looking. In her notes she mentioned that Sarah Blancette was a friend of Lady Fairfax (is this the Fairfax lady that George Washington was said to have been in love with all his life and saw and corresponded with?) I wondered if by researching the Fairfaxes, since the Jacquelots and Blancettes seem to be closely associated with them, that if they might be mentioned somewhere in Fairfax material on the internet, but I haven't found too much on the Fairfax colony yet. I love finding stories and references to our ancestors that go beyond just dates and places, don't you? Wish I could be of more help, but look forward to hearing from others with anything they may have on Sarah Blancette. Perhaps our new cousin from France may have something on the Blancette line.
