Nelson Bishop sworn says that John J.S. Bonstein late husband of claimant was killed in L.U. R.R. shops at South Easton on April 27, 1870 that he died or expired on affiauts plaines, that affiant was present when he expired and worked with the deceased, while he was living in said L.U.R.R. shops. That claimant has not remarried since the decease of her husband, that he knows the fact by living a near neighbor with claimant. That claimant has no means of support but by her own labor. That deceased was killed in an accident in said shops while in the performance of his duty.
Alice M Riley sworn says that John J.S. Bonstein late husband of claimant was killed in the L.U.R.R. shops at South Easton, PA on April 27, 1870 says that she saw the corpse when it was brought home that she helped at the funeral and was with the family while the corpse was in the house. That claimant has not remarried since the decease of her husband, that claimant has no means of support but from her own labor, that affiant know the facts from her being a near neighbor and has always been a near neighbor to claimant.

I am the Pastor of St. John's Lutheran Church Easton, Pa and have charge of the parochial records of said congregation. According to our records, I find that John J.S. Bonstein and Sabina Kutz were married June 5, 1864 by the Rev. B. M. Schmucker who was at that time Pastor of the church. H.D. Osterstock D. H. Geissinger
According to this paper: ...Sabina Bonstine aged 47 years, who, being duly sworn according to law, makes the following declaration in order to obtain the pension provided by Acts of Congress granting pensions to widows: That she is the widow of John J.S. Bonstein who enlisted under the name of John J.S. Bonsteine at Easton, PA on the first day of August A.D. 1862 in Company K 129 Regiment-Pennsylvania Volunteers in the War of United States, who some 2 months before his discharge suffered terribly with chronic diarreah and was subject to severe attacks and during long marches would give out. Cannot say how long he was in the hospital. Suffered continually when he returned home until time of his death-which was on the 27th day of April A.D. 1870, who bore at the time of his death the rank of Captain's clerk in the Service; that she was married under the name of Sabina Kutz to said John J.S. Bonsteine on the 5th day of June A.D. 1864 by Rev. Schmucker at Easton, there being no legal barrier to such marriage; that neither she nor her husband had been previously married, never married before that she has to the present date remained his widow; that the following are the names and dates of birth of all his legitimate children yet surviving who were under sixteen years of age at the father's death, to wit:

OBITUARY FOR QUINTUS SANDT
7 MARCH 1923==Quintus Sandt, 65 years old, died this morning at his home in Riegelsville of heart trouble. Mr. Sandt, who was a lifelong resident of Rieglesville arose about 7 o'clock, went to feed his horses, returned to his house and ate breakfast, and then laid on a couch where he expired. He was a farmer by occupation but recently had been doing team work for David Sutton. He is survived by his wife and daughter Mrs. Harry Ruth of Morrisvelle, PA. He was a member of the Reformed Church.

Jacob Ruch Wasser, 76, an employee of the Chesterfield Farms for 32 years before retiring four years ago, died early this morning at his home, 1322 Liberty Street. Mr. Wasser, who had been ill since Tuesday, was born in Lower Saucon Township, March 27, 1876, a son of the late Charles and Susanna M. Ruch Wasser. He was a member of St. John Evangelical Reformed Church, Riegelsville. Surviving are his wife, Irma Britton Creveling Wasser; three daughters, Mrs. Elwood Ellis, of Yardley; Mrs. Percy L. DeGroff of Palmer Twp, and Mrs. Luther K. Rush, Philipsburg; two sons, Col. Lee Q. Wasser, of Santa Anna, Calif., and Robert J. at home: a brother, Harleigh of Wilson; a sister, Mrs. Eugene Geisinger of Bethlehem; seven grandchildren and one great-great-grandchild. Col. Lee Q. Wasser, a native of Easton who rose from a private to Colonel in the US Army, died unexpectedly yesterday of a heart attack at his home in Santa Anna, Calif., He was 54.
Col. Wasser, who retired from the Army two years ago, was the son of Mrs. Irma B. Wasser, 1322 Liberty Street and the late Jacob R. Wasser. He left Easton High School during World War I in 1918 to enlist in the Aviation Section of the Army Signal Corps: Four years later he began Cadet training and completed the pursuit coarse at Kelly Field, Tex. He received a regular recommendation to the air service...[cannot read this line]..
During World War II He commanded the Fighter Pilot Replacement Traning Center at Tallahasse, Fla..then cheif of the Federal Air Command Despersion Division of the Inspector General's Office in Washington., [unreadable] and secured as a -- in China. His post-war assignments took him to Japan, Hawaii and Hamilton Air Force Base in California. Later he was Commanding Officer at Long Beach Air Force Base, California. The funeral of Mrs. Lula Mae DeGroff, 54, of 3105 Oregon St, Palmer Township, will be held at the convenience of the family at the Bender Funeral Home. Mrs. DeGroff reportedly had been despondent since the death of her husband, Percy L. [Whitey] DeGroff, in April 1959. Harleigh E. Wasser, 88, died this morning in Nazareth after a six-month illness. He formerly resided with his son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Lewis Reichard 2456 Forrest St. Wilson. Born in Bucks County, he was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Charles Wasser. He lived in Easton most of his life. He was employed as a butcher by the American Stores Co., until his retirement. Mr. Wasser was of the Evangelical and Reformed Faith. In addition to his daughter, he is survived by a son, Elbert, Nazareth; another daughter, Mrs. Florence Kelly, Easton; a sister, Mrs. Lizzie Geisinger, Bethlehem; five grandchildren. His wife, the former Annie Judd, died March 2. 1952. Services will be held Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton.

FUNERAL SERVICES HELD TUESDAY FOR C.R. WASSER [WEDNESDAY, MARCH 1. 1950] MEMBER OF INDUSTRIAL ARTS FACULTY SUCCUMBS AFTER LONG ILLNESS
Charles R. Wasser, 63, associate professor of industrial and vocational education at the College, died at the home, 112 West Lindburg, at 11:15 p.m. Sunday. Professor Wasser had suffered a heart attack last Aug. 27, but had recovered sufficiently to do some teaching in the first semester of the current term. He assisted in enrollment for the spring sememter and then was forced to give up his teaching work. He was in charge of woodworking, cabinet making and wood technology subjects at the College. Born Dec. 16, 1886, in Durham, Penn. Professor Wasser came to the College in 1915 from Lafayette College, Easton, Penn. where he had been on the engineering faculty from 1912 through 1914. He received his early education in the Williamson trade school at Media. Penn., graduating in 1908. He was a journeyman mechanic with Bethlehem Stell and the [Ingowall Band co.] unreadable..
Professor Wasser was for many years a member of the College athletic council. He was a member of the Methodist church, the Masonic lodge and several professional organizations, including Epsilon Pi Tau, national honorary industrial arts fraternity, the American Bocational Association and the Kansas Industrial Arts and Vocational Association.
Surviviors include the widow, Mrs. Florence Wasser, of the home; tow daughters, Mrs. Walter Moon, 1808 South Joplin and Mrs. Sam Doll, Fremont, Neb., five grandchildren; one sister, Mrs. Lizzier Geisinger, Bethlehem, Penn., and two brothers, Jacob R. Wasser, and Harley E. Wasser, both of Easton, Penn. Funeral Services were held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the Frist Methodist Church with Dr. Gordon H. Thompson and Rev. Clayton Pittman officiating. Bonstein, 67, of 1457 Washington St., Easton, will be held 2 p.m. Saturday at the Hagerty Colonial Home, Phillipsburg. Mr. Bonstein died at his home at 12:15 p.m. yesterday. Born in Easton, he was a son of the late Howard and Anna Young Bonstein. He was employed as a tool crib attendant in the compressor division of Ingersoll-Rand Co., Phillipsburg, NJ. He had been employed by the firm since Feb. 26, 1942. Mrs. Anna Amelia Bonstein, 76, of 1457 Washington St., died Saturday at her home. Born in Phillipsburg, she was a daughter of the late William and Amanda Lutz Meixell. Her husband, John, died in 1959. Mrs. Bonstein was a member of First United Church of Christ, Easton; Easton Chapter 214, Order of Eastern Star, the White Shrine of Jerusalem 213; Golden Age Club, Wilson Democratic Club and the 7th Ward Democrats. She had been employed at the nujrses home of Easton Hospital. Survivors include two sons, Willard, Palmer Township, and Arthur, Easton, and six grandchildren. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the Fisher Funeral Home, Wilson. Interment will be in the Northampton Memorial Shrine.

Mr. Bonstein was born in Easton, a son of Mrs. Anna Meixsell Bonstein of 1457 Washington St., and the late John Bonstein. He resided in Easton until moving to Miami in 1949. Mr. Bonstein formerly was employed at Schaible's Bakery and in the procurement division of the Ingersoll-Rand Co. He was in real estate and insurance business in Miami. Mr. Bonstein was a former liertenant in the Easton Home Guards. He served in the maritime service transporting troops to Korea in 1944-45. He was a captain of the Sons of Union Veterans Reserve. He was a member of North Shore Lodge, F&AM, Miami; Valley of Miami Consistory; Mahi Temple of the Shrine, Miami, and Loyal Order of Moose, Easton. Survivng in addition to his mother are his widow, the former Marion Emmons; a duaghter, Loretta, at home, and two brothers, Willard R. and Arthur E, both of Easton. Willard R. Bonstein, 64, of 2450 Woodridge Terrace, Palmer Township, formerly of Easton, died Saturday in Paris, France, after being stricken in the Meridien Hotel, Paris. He was on a tour of Europe. Before retiring in 1979, he was employed by Pennsylvania Liquor Control Board, working in liquor stores in the Easton area for more than 30 years. He served as store manager for many years. Born April 26, 1919, in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late John and Anna Maxwell Bonstein. Mr. Bonstein was a 1937 graduate of Easton High School. He was a member of First United Church of Christ, Dallas Lodge 396, F&AM , and Forest 35, Tall Cedars of Lebanon, all of Easton; Rajah Temple, Reading, and Lehigh Consistory, Allentown. He was a life member and past president of the Forks of the Delaware Shrine Club, Easton. He was also a member of the American Association of Retired Persons and the Pennsylvania Survivors of the Pearl Harbor attack. He and his wife, the former Helen Bango, would have celebrated their 40th wedding anniversary Oct. 21. Surviving in addition to his wife are a brother, Arthur of Easton, and several nieces and a nephew. Services will be held at 10 a.m. Oct. 21 at the Ashton Funeral Home, Easton. Entombment will be in the mausoleum of Grandview Cemetery, Allentown.

WILLIAM MEIXSELL William Meixsell, 76, West Church St., Easton, died in the Easton hospital at 8:15 p.m. on Wednesday following an illness of several months. He was a stone mason by trade and was a former caretaker of the First Evangelical and Reformed Church, Easton. He is a son of the late Theodore and Isabelle Meixsell and resided in Easton most of his life. Mr. Meixsell is survived by a daughter, Mrs. John Bonstein, Easton; a sister, Mrs. John Lutz and a brother, Melchoir Meixsell, both of Easton. Funeral Services will be held in the Adams funeral home, 226 Bushkill St., Easton, at 2 p.m. on Saturday. Burial in Easton Cemetery.

In 1870 Theodore Mixsell, age 30 a house carpenter, was living in Forks Twp., Northampton Co., PA with his wife, Isabell Mixsell age 31, and one child, Howard Mixsell age 2. Also living in their household were Irenia Huff age 15, Eliza Huff age 13, and Margreth Huff age 9. Theodore owned no real estate and had only $100 worth of personal effects. In 1892 Theodore Mixsell was living on Burke St. in Easton and was employed as an engineer. In 1893 he was living at the corner of Burke and Weygodt Streets in Easton and was employed as a carpenter.
Theodore was educated in the Easton schools and Dr. Vanderveer's Academy. He was employed by The Zearfoss-Hilliard Lumber Company and was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Easton. He died at the home of his son-in-law, John Lutz, Weygandt Drive, College Hill.
Theodore Mixsell Theodore Mixsel, a well known resident of this city, died Friday evening at the home of his son-in-law, John Lutz, Weygandt Drive, College Hill, from complications resulting from kidney trouble. He had been ill since Tuesday. Mr. Mixsell was 70 years of age and was a native of Easton. His parents were the late Melchoir and Margaret Mixsell. He was educated in the Easton schools and Dr. Vanderveer's Academy. The wife of deceased died fourteen years ago. He is survived by one daughter, Mrs. John Lutz, and by three sons, William, Melchoir and Howard Mixsell, all of Easton; also by two sisters, Mrs. Amelia P. Rockafellow and Miss Maggie Mixsell, of this city, and by five grandchildren. The late Mrs. Thomas T. Miller and Miss Mary Mixsell were sisters of deceased. Mr. Mixsell was formerly employed by the Zearfoss-Hilliard Lumber Company. He was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, having joined that congregation during the pastorate of Rev. Dr. Frank E. Meixsell had been living alone for the last three months. Charles Peifly, of 330 Kleinhans street, reported to police that he had noticed the light burning through Monday night and the daylight hours yesterday and he called Joseph Gipp, of 8 Lewis street, Phillipsburg, who had a key to the Meixsell home. Together Peifly and Gipp entered the house and found Meixsell dead. Dr. D. F. Bachman, Coroner of Northampton County, was notified and he issued a certificate of death due to heart trouble. The body was taken to the Adams Funeral Home. Mr. Meixsell was born in Easton, a son of the late Theodore and Isabel Meixsell. In early life he was employed at the American Sheet Iron Mill, Phillipsburg, and resided in that town. He also worked for several years in the Lehigh Valley Shops, South Side and later became sexton of St. Paul's Lutheran Church, North 4th Street. In 1907 he opened one of the first garages in Easton, the Lafayette at 78 North West Street. He was also employed as chauffeur for Mrs. David Mixsell and Mrs. Charles Groetzinger and worked at different garages in Easton. Recently he worked for R. F. Ziegler, 242 N. 3rd. St., and Henry Halpin's Garage, 3rd and Washington Streets. His wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Meixsell, and a son, Walter, preceded him in death. He is survived by one sister, Mrs. John Lutz, of 113 Northampton street and by two brothers, William Meixsell and Melchoir F. Meixsell, both of this city.

He had been a guest there for four years. Mr. Meixsell was born on July 15, 1882 in Phillipsburg, a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Theodore Meixsell. Before moving to Florida, he resided with his son, Carl K. Meixsell, 636 Ferguson St., Phillipsburg. Mr. Meixsell formerly was employed as a custodian at the Kappa Delta Rho and Delta Tau Delta fraternities at Lafayette College. In his early life, he played semi-professional baseball and football with the North End team of Phillipsburg, NJ. He was active in sports activities in the Easton area. He was a member of Easton Lodge 45, Loyal Order of Moose. He was the last member of his family. His wife, Elizabeth Kies Meixsell, died in 1936. Surviving, in addition to his son, Carl, are another son, M. Francis Meixsell, Palmer Township, and two grandchildren. Carl Meixsell was a member of the football and basketball teams at Easton High School in 1928. Francis was captain of the Easton High School football team in 1922. The funeral will be held at 2 p.m. tomorrow at the family plot in Easton Cemetery.

She was admitted to the hospital on January 20 for medical treatment. Mrs. Meixsell was born in Easton, a daughter of the late Leopold and Regina Kies. For 52 years she lived in this city and had many friends here. Besides her husband, she is survived by two sons, Francis and Carl K. Meixsell, of this city, also by one brother, Charles Kies, of this city. She was a member of the First Methodist Episcopal Church.

On 24 November 1815, Melchior Mixsell, son of Michael Mixsell of Chestnuthill, yeoman, deceased, a minor above the age of 14, petitioned orphans court for a guardian. The court assigned Philip Lessig of Chestnuthill. (Orphans court book 9, pg. 2, Northampton County Government Center, Easton, PA)
In 1815 Melchior Mixsell was confirmed at the age of 18 in the German Reformed Church by Rev. Hoffenditts. In 1818 he settled in Easton, PA.
Melchior Mixsell was married to Margaret Rebecca Messinger at Easton Reformed Church. He was a millwright by trade in grist mills along the Bushkill Creek. He was elder and deacon of the Third Street Reformed Church in Easton for six years and, in 1832, assisted in re-building the church. In later years, he became a member of the First Presbyterian Church of Easton. In 1882 he lived at the corner of 2nd and Bushkill Streets in Easton.
In 1850 Melchior "Mixell", age 52 a millwright, was living in Easton, PA, with his wife, Margaret Mixsell age 46, and four Mixsellchildren; Mary C. age 16, Theodore age 10, Amelia age 9, and Margaret age 7. He owned real estate valued at $3,000. Also living in his household was his nephew, Peter Mixell, age 28 a shoemaker. In 1870 Melchior "Mixsell", age 72 a gentleman, was living in the Bushkill Ward of Easton, PA with his wife, Margaret Mixsell age 68. Also counted in their household were Theodore Mixsell age 26 (who appears to have been counted twice in the 1870 census), Mary Mixsell age 24, Melia Mixsell age 20, and Maggie Mixsell age 18. Melchior Mixsell died at his residence in Easton at the corner of 2nd and Bushkill Streets. His obituary, which appeared in the Easton newspapers on 20 April 1882, showed that he was survived by one son and four daughters; Theodore, Mrs. Thomas T. Miller, Maggie, and Mary of Easton, and Mrs. Samuel Rockafellow of Frenchtown, NJ. A second obituary said he was also survived by an adopted son named Peter. His death also appeared in the records of the German Reformed Church.

Melchior Mixsell left a will, written 11 Jan 1879 and proved 29 April 1882, in which he bequeathed his real estate to daughters, Mary and Maggie. He bequeathed the remainder of his estate to daughter Emma wife of Thomas J. Miller, son Theodore, and daughter Amelia wife of Samuel Rockafellow. He appointed his daughter, Mary, the executor. Mrs. Emma (Mixsell) Miller died at the age of 60 at the home of a friend in Atlantic City, NJ. Her obituary appeared in the "Easton Express" newspaper on 20 May 1895.

Michael Meixel, Sr. served as a Private in "Class the 6" in "Chestnot Hill township" in the Northampton County militia in Capt. John Griggory's Company commanded by Cornel Carn in 1780. His name appears on the class roll of 25 September 1780 as "Michael Mikesel". Michael also served as a Private in the sixth class of the Third Battalion, Third Company, of the Northampton County militia under Lt. Co'l. Nicklass Kerns and Captain John Gregery. On 28 October 1814, widow Catharine signed a renunciation (written in German). A renunciation was also filed 25 October 1814 by George Kern, husband of Michael's daughter Christina; Henry Renner, husband of Michael's daughter Margaret; and by David Hutmacher, husband of Michael's daughter Catharine, to approve administration of Michael's estate by his sons, John and Michael Jr.
On 28 October 1814 a bond of administration was issued to John and Michael Mixsell Jr. with Jacob Frantz and Jacob Roth as sureties, all of Chestnuthill Twp. Michael's estate was inventoried 9 December 1814 (items listed in German) and an accounting of his estate was filed 20 October 1815.
On 24 November 1815, son Melchior Mixsell, a minor over the age of 14, filed a petition in Northamton County orphans court requesting a guardian. The court appointed Philip Lessig. (Northampton Co. orphans court book 9, pg. 2)
On 19 January 1816, John Mixsell, eldest son of Michael Mixsell, Chestnuthill, yeoman, deceased, filed a petition in orphans court to partition or evaluate Michael's two tracts of land of 369 acres and 178 acres in Chestnuthill Twp. for distribution to his heirs. The petition stated that Michael died on or about 3 October 1814 leaving a widow Catharine and eight children; John, Christina intermarried with George Kern, Margaret intermarried with Henry Renner, Catharine intermarried with David Hutmacher, Michael Jr., George, Melchior, and Peter (the last three children being minors). David Huthmaker was one of the Township Trustees named in the deed for the meeting house and burying ground at Ransom Twp., given by John Dorshimer May 21, 1845. He purchased 210 acres in Exeter Township from James Harding for $631.00, April 11, 1845. He purchased 138 acres land in Ransom Township from Joseph Krause Estate for $200.00, October 3, 1859.

Magdalena Weiss was baptized by a minister from the Moravian Church at Schoeneck in Upper Nazareth Twp., Northampton Co., PA. At that time the Moravian ministers were known to have traveled to the upper reaches of the county to perform baptisms and Magdalena was most likely baptized at her parent's home.
Magdalena (Weiss) Meixsell is buried in Salem Church cemetery at Gilbert (aka. Pleasant Valley) The surname on her tombstone is "Meyxsell".

EDWARD E. HOWARD
PALMER TWP., PA. -- Edward E. Howard, 76, died on Thursday, March 24, 2005 in Easton Hospital. Born on Sept. 28, 1928 in Phillipsburg, he was a son of the late Elston M. and Freida M. Hanlen Howard. He and his wife, the former Phyllis Bonstein were married for 51 years in June. He was the director of sales and marketing for The Express-Times until retiring in 1992 after 39 years. He then served as the director of development for the Children's Home of Easton. Edward was a paratrooper for the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team during the Korean War. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1946 and attended Lafayette College.
He was a member of Palmer Moravian Community Church where he served on the Endowment Committee, the 50th Anniversary Committee and co-chaired with his wife the Advanced Gifts for the Sharing of the Light capital campaign. He was president of the Easton Area Chamber of Commerce from 1974 until 1975 and the International Newspaper Promotion Association. He was chairman of the YMCA membership campaign in 1971, the United Fund campaigns for many years and various campaigns for Lafayette College. He also served as chairman of the Easton Area Bicentennial Commission and the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers Association. He served on the boards of TRACC for over 25 years, the Sales and Marketing Executives for over 30 years, the Easton Economic Development Commission and the Northampton County Drug and Alcohol Commission. He was a director of the Junior Achievement of the Lehigh Valley from 1968 until 1971 and the Downtown Improvement Group. He served as secretary and vice-president of the Grocery Manufacturing Representatives of Eastern Pennsylvania. he was a member of the International Newspaper Advertising Executives Association and the Food Industy Association of Allentown. Edward was a Boy Scout with Troop 52 in Phillipsburg and was also a Cub Pack Leader. he was a Saxophonist with the Easton Orchestra, Stardusters and is listed in Who's Who.
In addition to his wife, Phyllis, he is survived by a daughter, Leslie Ann Howard of Madison, Wis.; a sister, Doris of Reno, Nev.; and a grandson Ricky.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m. in the church, John Street and Moravian Ave., Palmer Township. Call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services in the church. The Ashton Funeral Home, 14th & Northampton sts., Easton is handling the arrangements. He was the director of sales and marketing for The Express-Times until retiring in 1992, after 39 years. He then served as the director of development for the Children's Home of Easton. Edward was a paratrooper for the 508th Airborne Regimental Combat Team during the Korean War. He graduated from Phillipsburg High School in 1946 and attended Lafayette College. He was a member of Palmer Moravian Community Church where he served on the Endowment Committee, the 50th Anniversary Committee and co-chaired with his wife the Advanced Gifts for the Sharing of the Light capital compaign. He was president of the Easton Area Chamber of Commerce from 1974 until 1975 and the International Newspaper Promotion Association. He was Chairman of the YMCA membership campaign in 1971, the United Fund campaigns for many years and various campaigns for Lafayette College. He also served as chairman of the EAston Area Bicentennial Commission and the Pennsylvania Newspaper Publishers Association. He served on the boards of TRACC for over 25 years, the Sales and Marketing Executives for over 30 years, the Easton Economic Development Commission and the Northampton County Drug and Alcohol Commission. He was a director of the Junior Achievement of the Lehigh Valley from 1968 until 1971 and the Downtown Improvement Group. He served as secretary and vice-president of the Grocery Manufactures Representatives of EAstern Pennsylvania. he was a member of the International Newspapwr Advertising Executives Association and the Food Industry Association of Allentown. Edward was Boy Scout with Troop 52 in Phillipsburg and was also a Cub Pack leader. He was a saxophonist with the Easton Orchestra. Stardusters and is listed in Who's Who. In addition to his wife, Phyllis, he is survived by a daughter, Leslie Ann Howard of Madison, Wis.; a sister, Doris of Reno, Nev.; and a grandson Ricky. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, April 2, at 11 a.m. in the church, John Street and Moravian Ave., Palmer Township. Call from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the services in the church. Easton, Pa. 18042 Dear Mr. Bonstein: I know is has been along time since you called me and asked about the Bonstein genealogy. I apologize for the delay. I am enclosing a copy of the genealogy that my father had written up together with a chart that I made up from those facts. Perhaps you can enlarge on your part of the family and, of course, make any corrections that you know of. My father was Henry L. Bonstein, son of Samuel Van Selan Bonstein. Dad worked for the Lehigh Valley Railroad all of his life and retired as mechanical engineer for the valley. He died in 1963. You may know Lucille Smith who works in Bixler's--her mother was a cousin to my dad and I have marked her name with a star. I know that when I was a child we used to go to riegelsville on the trolley to visit Quintus Sandt. Also Howard [2] used to live over Mammy Morgan's Hill and we used to visit there. Some years before dad died, he and I went to Hecktown Cemetery and found the first Jacob's grave in the first row in back of the church there. It was hard to find any others, although I am sure alot were buried there, but in those days they didn't have plots and the graves were scattered all around the cemetery, and a great deal of them were written in German. This family tree really fascinates me, but I do not have the time to go looking things up, what with working and keeping house and children and grandchildren.
