Obadiah White and John Bowls to Matthew Amyx, power of attorney Barren County KY Deed Book J, page 43, 3 Oct 1823

To all whom these presents shall come Greeting. Know ye that Obadiah White, guardian of Obadiah White Junior, Austin White, Elizabeth White & Middleton White of the county of Barren & state of Kentucky, also John Bowls who married Sealia White, daughter of the above named Obadiah White Senior of the county of Barren & state aforesaid, have and by these presents doth appoint Matthew Amyx of the county of Cumberland & state aforesaid as our true lawful attorney in fact for us and in our names to receive the balance of money which may be awarded or allowed us from John Arthur, Executor of the estate of Barnabas Arthur of Virginia, Franklin County or from John Hayden Lewis Winfield & Nicholas Robertson, commissioners of said estate, and we do hereby authorise our said attorney to sign all necessary receipts and acquittances there for and in all other things in relation thereunto to act as though we were present, hereby ratifying and confirming every act and deed of our attorney as fully and completely as if we were to transact the same in our own proper names and persons. In witness whereof we have hereunto subscribed our names and affixed our seals this 3rd of October 1823.

I as clerk of the county court for the county aforesaid, do certify that this letter or power of attorney was this day acknowledged before me in office by Obadiah White & John Bowls to be their own hands and seals, acts and deeds for the purposes therein mentioned & thereupon admitted to record in said office. In testimony whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name and affixed the seal of city at Glasgow this 3rd day of October one thousand eight hundred & twenty three.
