Memories from my Father: James R Johnston.

His mother was Bonnie Marie Perry daughter of Adee Liles. I suspect his Aunt Jeanie to be Jeanie de Chronic and perhaps his Aunt Dora would be Dora Liles raised by her Aunt Susan Dunn Stanley.
Bill and I were just short of our 6th birthday when our mother died. We were around eight years old when he married our stepmother Josephine Beverly. "Jo" told the rest of the family to stear clear or something like that according to our Aunt Darlene. But we did visit our aunts, and more regularly our Aunt Dora in Redwood City.

I know very little about my mother's side of the family. Bill and I stayed with our maternal grandmother a couple of times. She lived in Vallejo, near the railroad tracks (which Bill and I explored) She lived in a trailer and had an outdoor outhouse. She had two daughters our Aunt Jeanie (Red Hair) and Ruth (???). We had a great Aunt Dora and her husband Uncle Henry. They lived in Redwood City, and we visited them often.

Info to be checked out. May nor be our Sam Liles

In the above census Adee appears to be boarding in Houston with her sister Susie Dunn. Below the same
census year it appears her two daughters Bonnie and Ruth are orphaned at Camp Logan which is now
Memorial Park in Houston. Where was her Husband James Raby Perry who is said to have died in 1923.
This was during WWl but I can only guess at the circumstances that pulled the children away from their mother.
