He married 22 December 1876 Sarah Jane Switzler Wallace who was born 25 April 1850 in OR or WA, died 31 December 1928, Vancouver, Clark Co., WA. Joseph Robinson Switzler was born the 26th of September 1827/31 in Saline Co. MO, to John Switzler and his second wife Mariah Robinson. He married 9 March 1848 in Clackamas Co., OR, to Mary Wolf(e) born 4 July 1929 in Pennsylvania. Mary�s sister Susan J. Wolf married George W. Force in 1848 and lived next to Mary and Joseph near Portland in a place named �Falomah�Force, Love, Moore.� Their brother was Michael Wolf(e) and the three came over the Oregon Trail in 1847. John Switzler was born 29 Sept 1789/1776/1779 in Rockingham or Orange Co., Virginia to (John) George Switzler [Zweitzler] and (Gertrude) Charity Denig. John died in Oregon in 1856. He married first to Elizabeth (Cary) LEE 22 Nov 1810 Patrick Co., Va, daughter of Randolph Lee and Elizabeth _____ Lee. She was the mother of his first three children and died in 1826. They were Elizabeth Switzler (Mrs. Moses) Mitchell, Greenville Switzler, and Sarah Switzler Logsdon/Logadore Willson Stoddard. John then married second Maria(h) Robinson of Warrensburg, Missouri on 12 Mar 1827. She was the daughter of Joseph Robinson and Margaret (Peggy) Boyd. She was also known as Mary and died 17 Oct 1850 in Oregon. Their children were all born in Saline Co, MO.
