AKRONOTES: Any amateur art de-
tectives around town? We fail to men-
tion the professional type only because
there wouldn't seem to be enough work
around here to earn a living that way.
The reason we ask is that some arty
sleuth, or sleuths, can have a lot of fun
investing a painting found by Clar-
ence Snively. a related B.F Goodrich
employee of 121 Corson ave.
Sniffle's find is a portrait dated 1795
and signed "Rembrandt."
He --Snively-- was inspecting the
frame on a painting which has been in
his family for years when he discovered
that it covered another painting. The
second one was the "Rembrandt"
Of course, Snively knows as well as
anyone that the Rembrandt most famed
in the world of art died in 1669 -- but that
fact only makes the mystery of his paint-
ing all the more intriguing.
