9. William Frederick Conrad Sheriff Ashland Co.^{(14) (15)} was born on 16 Apr 1858 in Loudonville, Holmes Co., OH. He died on 9 Nov 1932 in Mansfield, OH. He was a marshal of Loudonville and then sheriff of Ashland Co. as well as a farmer. He was a member of Lutheran Church. According to Gertrude Conrad Fisher, William Frederick Conrad came to America with his mother, Elizabeth Clein/Klein and her father, William Frederick Klein. Records in Esslingen, Germany show Elizabeth, her father and Elizabeth's son W. F. with the surname as well as birth year scratch out. This leads to speculation that William Frederick Conrad may not have been the birth son of Jacob Conrad as later records show.

He was married to Sarah Jane Smith on 20 Apr 1879. Sarah Jane Smith⁽¹⁶⁾ was born on 11 Jul 1856. She died on 9 Aug 1896. William Frederick Conrad Sheriff Ashland Co. and Sarah Jane Smith had the following children:
