He married an Elizabeth Swartz about 1753 !NOTE: A definitive marriage record for Leonard has yet to be located.The one for Leonard Groninger and Elisabeth ___________ listed in"Central Pennsylvania Marriages" by Charles Adam Fi sher, Part VII - Marriages of some Pennsylvania Soldiers, etc. could have been have an incorrect year due to an error by the compiler [PA 26]

NOTE: At an Orphan's Court held at Easton in and for the County of Northampton the twenty-second day of December 1761. "A petition of Abraham Swartz one of the children of Jacob Swartz deceased .... in 1759..... Intestate leaving a widow Katherine and eleven children viz: Jacob Sophia, wife of David Marsh, Elizabeth, wife of Leonard Groninger, Susannah, wife of Henry Van Pool, Margaret and the Petitioner all of Age and George John Katherine Mary and Philip under age........." This information presents documented evidence that Leonard's wife was Elizabeth Swartz.
