"Nathan MEEKS was taxed in his father, John's household in 1762 inPitt Co., NC. He purc h a sed 50 acres adjoining the other Meeks fromWalter MEEKS on 21 Mar 1781 (H:147, witness e d b y Francis MEEKS andIsrael EDWARDS). He probably died before 1790 and the Mary MEEK S i nPit t County that year may have been his widow. A deed of 1819(BB:220) shows that his t w o child ren and heirs were Numan and Ruthwho married a BRITT."
