~My Italian Grandparents~
Antoinette (Mary) CHRISTOPHER, married name CANNATA at age 16 years. She was born in Pittsburgh PA, on November 6, 1902. Died January 25, 1945, in Pennsylvania. Her parents names were Vincenzo CHRISTOPHER (CRISTOFERO) and Vittoria BENATIVOGLIA. Both born somewhere in Italy. Birth and Death dates are not known. Her sisters were (are) Martha, Mary, and Jennie (born about 1889) CHRISTOPHER, there might have been a brother named Tim. Jennie married Albert ACIERNO about 1909. They, had 3 children. Angelina - born about 1915, Martha, born about 1916, and Dominic born about 1919. (According to the 1930 census). Frank L. CANNATA, born in the region of Calabria Italy, on March 11, 1895. Died on March 28, 1952, in West Virginia and buried in Pennsylvania. He served in WWI. Franks' parents were Guiseppe CANNATA and Rosa FEDERICO, both born in Italy. At this time I am not sure if they came to the USA or stayed in Italy. Frank and Antoinette were married October 29, 1919, in Pittsburgh, PA. Frank came to the USA through Ellis Island in 1914. He was naturalized in 1919. Frank and Antoinette lived in PA raising their 9 children, 7 boys and 2 girls! WOW! **The latest word: RosieVictoria was born in January 1922, died at age 11 months old, in December 1922. Rosie Victoria is buried in Mount Carmel Cemetery in Pittsburgh, PA. NEW INFORMATION: FRANK CANNATAs' Father Guiseppe, might have had brothers named Salvatore and Vincenzo CANNATA. I found this info on a ships Manifest when they went through Ellis Island in 1914.
~My Maternal Grandparents~
Michael TIRPAK, born September 19, 1907, in PA. Passed away in CA in 1997. His Parents were George (Jurij) TIRPAK, born April 14, 1881, in Packanovo (Patakos) Austria-Hungary. He died January 29, 1960. Georges parents were Vasyl' TIRPAK and Marija CSOBAK. Michael TIRPAK'S mother was Elizabeth (Elysaveta) KOVACH, born December 6, 1884, in Packanovo (Patakos) Austria-Hungary. She died April 8, 1945. Her parents were Vasyl' KOVACH and Ahafija GEGYO SZVIDA. They both came to the USA 1905. Both passed away in Pennsylvania. They had 12 children.
Anna Marie SPEICHER, born in October 6, 1915, in PA. She passed away in 1995, in CA. Her parents were Charles SPEICHER, born about 1884, in Alsace Lorraine, France. Died about 1942. Charles came to the USA in 1888, and was naturalized in 1893. His parents were Jacob SPEICHER and Louise HORNE. Mary HOFFMANN, born around 1889, in Germany. Mary passed about 1969, in PA. Her parents were Sebastian John HOFFMANN, born about 1846. Cunnigunda ZINCK, born about 1857. Marys' siblings were Ann, born about 1874, Andrew, born about 1876, and Katherine born about 1879. (According to the 1880 census).
IMPORTANT: Anna Rose CANNATA gave birth to a baby boy in the 1950's or possibly the 1960's. In Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. (Allegheny County) His name was Christopher. He was given up for adoption shortly after birth. Still no birthdate known.
