My name is Donna and I love genealogy! I have been doing intense family research for three years now and have found out much information on virtually every line of my family (we all have those ancestors who we swear must have either swam here or must have landed in the US from a UFO. Believe me, I feel your pain!).
I do family research for others and get great satisfaction when I able to uncover something that someone was having trouble with. I also get frustrated when I can't help someone, but I will give it my all trying to help them in the meantime (I don't give up easily when it comes to research!).
I live in Philadelphia, PA and I take full advantage of the resources the city has to offer. I love living in the middle of so much history.
The earliest ancestor, my great-great-grandfather, permanently settled in the Germantown section of Philadelphia in 1901, after making several trips during the 1880's and 1890's to the city to do stonework. The rest of his family came in 1904.
My great-grandfather, a blacksmith, came to Germantown in 1903 and stayed there until his death in 1968, my other Italian great-grandfather came between 1903-1906 (he would move to North Philadelphia with his pisans in the mid-1920's to St. Mary of the Eternal Parish), my Belorussian great-grandfather and great-grandmother immigrated to the Port Richmond section of Philadelphia in 1913, and my mother's father's family is a complete mystery to me (they definitely landed here via UFO!).
Genealogy is a huge part of my life but I also have other hobbies: Writing, reading, listening to classic rock (namely The Beatles!), Italian royalty, etc.
Researching the following names: Di Giacomo, Cannalonga, Cesario, Calabro, Giorno, Frega, Lotito, Jackimowicz, Koronewski, Skoroda, Dobieralska, Petak, Wozniak.
In Italy researching Luzzi, Cosenza, Calabria: Lungro, Cosenza, Calabria: Montecorvino Rovella, Salerno, Campania: Battipaglia, Salerno, Campania. I am also Belorussian, Lithuanian, Ukranian, and part Polish.
