SCROGIN ANCESTRY
There are many spelling variations for this name. The premiere site for information about the Scrogin/etc. lines is (off site) The Scroggins Papers A Genealogical History of The Scroggins and Allied Families, compiled and written by William G. Scroggins. As of June 2002, the author's codes and/or file names associated with our line: (A1) George - Scroggins 10.pdf; (B2) John - Scroggins 09.pdf; (C1) Joseph, (D3) Mary - Scroggins 08.pdf (the pdf files are large: 372, 55, 331 pages).
FANTELINA FACT & FICTION - Fantelina was Sarah's great, great grandmother. Was she really a Princess?
CLARKE - William G. Scroggins has graciously given permission to include his material on the Clarke family (this material is not in the
The Scroggins Papers).
CALDWELL - Information from William G. Scroggins will be included on this website in the future.
WHARTON ANCESTRY
Many of Sarah's descendants (including GKBopp) have become members of the National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution (NSDAR or DAR) under Sarah's father, Revel Wharton. Additional information about the Wharton side of Sarah's ancestry will be added in the future, including Record of the Wharton Family, an article from The Evening Post, Louisville, KY, August 15, 1903. The article, provided by Miss Susie Green (descendent of James W. English, 4th child of Sarah & Elisha), recounts the Wharton line back to a Hastings' marriage, which in turn links back to David Earl of Huntington, who is said to descend from Duncan I 1035-1039 [who was killed by Macbeth], of the Royal Family of Scotland. There is no documentation, of course!
