William of DE/MD researchers report that  “There are Kinneys/Kenneys in KY history that have connections to the families in Staunton, VA which go back to Capt. Wm. Kinney of Blisland, New Kent Co., VA c. 1721.  We have reason to suspect there was communication between "our" Kinneys and those Kinneys.”

A June 1988 chart prepared by a family member shows William of Strabane, PA, as the son of Isaac of DE .  According to the Kinney Tales and Trails book, William of Strabane, PA, is the brother of that Isaac and therefore the son of William who d. 1770.   The above chart uses the book version.

[Self published by] TOSH LTD, Lancaster, VA. 2000.  ISBN 0-9701630-0-2.  This book deals primarily with descendants of William of Delaware Bay 1675 who is probably related to William Kinney of DE/MD who d. 1770 (summaries of several other Kinney lines are included). 

Email from one of the co-authors (2006):  "We are very careful about what we release for any internet posting because we have seen numerous instances where less conscientious researchers have made leaps of faith and attached their genealogy to that of others and proliferated errors beyond control. Those who have purchased the book, Kinney Tales and Trails, have been asked not to broadcast the genealogy to avoid infecting our work with errors or confusing our line with others not fully documented. There are around 6000 individuals in our Kinney family data bank with document archives kept here in Virginia and duplicated at a cousin's in North Carolina."
