Thomas Kenny c. 1830 Ireland

1) Thomas Kenny b. abt. 1830, Ireland (around the province of Connaught). Married abt. 1850, Ireland, Mary Anne Pender (b. 23 Jul 1832, Ireland). None of Mary's family came to the U.S.; they emigrated to England and Australia.

2) John Kenny b. 10 Jun 1857, Ballyglass, Galway, Ireland; d. 11 Apr 1908, Hillswood, Galway, Ireland. Married 21 Nov 1878, R.C. Church, Clonfert, Fohenagh, Mary Ann Clinton (b. abt 1856, Leanalough, Fohenagh, Galway; d. 26 Mar 1925, Hillswood, Galway, Ireland).

3) James Joseph KENNY b. 23 Jun 1899, Hillswood, Galway, Ireland; d. 8 Mar 1979, New York City, New York. Married 31 Jan 1932, St. Jerome's Church, Bronx, New York, Mary Mugan (b. 16 May 1906, Slinaun, Mayo, Ireland, d. 18 May 1983, New York City, New York). He was the youngest of 10 and only one of his siblings, John Joseph, came to the States (he settled in the States of California, Colorado and Tennessee).

4) KENNY - born in U.S. - Participant 48440

There is a Kenny family of five brothers that family folklore has going to the U.S. around 1830 and settling in Iowa. Participant has built up a tree about them, but as of yet cannot tie them to his family. The distance in Ireland between both homesteads is 12 miles and the time frame is correct.
