7. J. Percy MARRIOTT^3,27,28 was born on Oct 7, 1899 in Waverly, Coffey Co., Kansas. He died on Feb 14, 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri. He was buried on Feb 17, 1972 in Kansas City, Missouri. "Uncle Perce" we all called him. He had a special affinity for his half-sister Anna (my grandmother). We thought him a confirmed bachelor until we uncovered evidence of a marriage that no one knew about in Missouri. Now have a license that shows him marrying an Effie A. Bess in West Plains, MO (Howell Co.). The marriage cannot have lasted long, though, as she later married Darrell A. Duffy.
