The Parish of Maker is on the Rame Penninsula in the south eastern corner of Cornwall.   It is a short ride from Plymouth over the Sound by the Cremyll Passenger Ferry.   Maker Church stands in the countryside at the top of the hill, beyond Mount Edgecumbe House.

This was the church where John Penn married Jane Parkin on 15 Sep 1751
(after 1761, Jane was known as Jennifer).
Their children were baptised at Maker as follows:

Richard Penn, baptised on 10 July 1752
Stephen Penn, baptised on 14 March 1754
John Penn, baptised on 11 June 1756
Thomas Penn, baptised on 2 May 1758
Stephen Penn, baptised on 30 March 1760
William Penn, baptised on 16 December 1761
Jennifer Penn, baptised on 11 May 1764.
James Penn, baptised on 17 October 1766.
Mary Penn, baptised on 28 July 1769
Susanna Penn, baptised on 30 August 1772.
