David W. Dean (Page 1)

Was born in Montgomery county, Ohio, in 1831, and remained there until 1852. In that year he went to the town of Bluffton, Mills county, Indiana, and served in the capacity of deputy county clerk for one year. He then returned to Ohio and remained until 1854, when he married Miss Sarah C. Deal, who was also born in 1831. In 1856 Mr. Dean moved with his family to Illinois, and settled in Atlas township, Pike county, on section 23, and engaged in farming. Here he remained until 1867, when he sold out and purchased a very valuable farm on section 13, in the same township, where he now resides, in very comfortable circumstances. A view of his fine residence and farm may be seen in this work. {pg 49}
