BINGHAM JELLERSON

Was born in the state of Maine in the year 1805, and remained there until 1844, when he emigrated to Pike county, Illinois, and settled on section 23, in Pittsfield township, where he still resides. In 1828 he was married to Miss Mary Lowe, who was also born in Maine, in 1799. They have had born to them four children, three of whom are yet living, all married, and doing well.

Mr. Jellerson commenced life poor, but being industrious and of sober habits, he has prospered well, and is now in good, comfortable circumstances. He has always made farming and stock raising his business. He has lived a moral, upright life, and is held in high esteem by his neighbors for his many good qualities. He has no recollection of ever having tasted any kind of intoxicating liquor as a beverage. How few can say as much?
