JAMES H. GARNER

Is the son of Jonathan Garner, who was born in North Carolina in 1886. When James was twelve years of age his parents moved to Kentucky, where they remained until 1840. They then removed to Pike county and settled on the northeast quarter of section 33, in Derry township, where Mr. Garner died in 1859. James was born in Kentucky in 1824, and remained with his father — who was a gunsmith — until his death. James always worked on the farm, and he is now the owner of, and resides upon, the same farm upon which his father first settled. He is one of the many good farmers and stock raisers of Derry township, and ia a good citizen and much respected. In 1864 he was married to Miss Mary E. Williams, of Pike county, and settled, soon after his marriage, on the old homestead, where he now lives, enjoying life. He is the father of three fine children, one daughter and two sons.
