R. A. McCLINTOCK

Is the son of Robert McClintock, and was born in the state of Tennessee in 1818. In 1825 his parents moved from Tennessee to Missouri, where they remained three years. They then moved to Pike county, Illinois, and settled on section 35 in Derry township. R. A. remained with his parents and labored on the farm until 1844, when he married Miss Elizabeth Stanley. He then settled on section 5 in Martinsburg township, where he still resides. In 1850 Mrs. McClintock died, leaving her husband with three children. In 1851 he married for his second wife Mrs. Richards, who has borne him one child. Two of his children are married and two at home single. Mr. McClintock has always been engaged in farming and stock raising. In 1863 he was elected treasurer of Pike county, and served for two years. He has held many of the local offices of his township, such as supervisor, justice of the peace, &c. He is a good citizen and is highly esteemed by his many warm friends. He is a good farmer, owns a fine farm, and is taking life easy.
