BACKGROUND INFORMATION
"GLENN TUNNEY'S COLUMN" was published in the "Features" section of the Sunday Uniontown Herald-Standard from 1998 - 2006. The column featured topics related to the history of the Brownsville, Fayette Co., PA area and includes interviews, stories, reader contributions and historic photographs.
"BROWNSVILLE TIME CAPSULE" was published only in the Brownsville regional edition of the newspaper. This column takes the reader back into Brownsville's past by drawing upon stories from the pages of the now defunct Brownsville Telegraph from 25, 45 and 60 years ago.Glenn Tunney taught Local History, United States History and World History at Brownsville Area High School from 1972 - 2006, when he retired. He was named Fayette County "Educator of the Year" for the year 2000 from the Brownsville Area School District. He is currently on an indefinite leave of absence from writing these columns for the Herald-Standard.
