The following lines are written with the sincere prayer that they will be kept written in the family Bibles of all my children and their children's children until the end of time, and observed by them.
Put your whole trust in God and that early, do not procrastinate lest the devil cheat you out of your soul. Seek thy Creator in the days of thy youth never be ashamed to our your God, take up your cross and the Lord will lighten it. Make it the supreme object of your prayers and desire to lay up your treasurers in Heaven, remembering that the things of earth must perish. remember the power of habit and shun the very appearance of evil. Evade bad company seek knowledge, study the greatness of the same, its immense value and what it cost.

Honor and obey your parents. Be industrious and saving that you may want not nor be a burden on society. make yourself useful in your day and generation.
