Emma THORIN

BIRTH: perhaps born in Torp N. Qville, Sweden (is next to Fjallbacka, Sweden)
moved to America in Sept 26, 1893 on steamship called Cameo with destination of New Holland

BIOGRAPHY: Immigrated to US 1893

1  NOTE Emma emigrated from Sweden to America 26 Sep 1893 at the age of 17, on the steam ship "Cameo" bound for New Holland.  She landed in Canada, went down the St. Lawrence River, and entered the U.S. at Detroit.  She came to America to keep house for her brother, Ole (Olaf), who was a coal miner.  Then she met John Erikson, who was also from Sweden and working as a coal miner, and they were married in May 1894.

At the time of the 1900 U.S. Census (7 Jun 1900), John and Emma Ereckson and their first three daughters were living in a rented house in Black Diamond, WA. John was working as a mine laborer, and he and Emma could both read, write, and speak English.

Emma left John in 1906 and moved to Gig Harbor with their five daughters. She later married Bill White; they had four sons and one daughter.
