1 NOTE Emma emigrated from Sweden to America 26 Sep 1893 at the age of 17, on the steam ship "Cameo" bound for New Holland. She landed in Canada, went down the St. Lawrence River, and entered the U.S. at Detroit. She came to America to keep house for her brother, Ole (Olaf), who was a coal miner. Then she met John Erikson, who was also from Sweden and working as a coal miner, and they were married in May 1894.
At the time of the 1900 U.S. Census (7 Jun 1900), John and Emma Ereckson and their first three daughters were living in a rented house in Black Diamond, WA. John was working as a mine laborer, and he and Emma could both read, write, and speak English.
Emma left John in 1906 and moved to Gig Harbor with their five daughters. She later married Bill White; they had four sons and one daughter.

Mrs. Emma White, 88, of 3501 S. Monroe St., died Monday in a local hospital. She was born in Sweden and came to Tacoma in 1929 from Gig Harbor. She was a member of the First Christian Church. She is survived by five daughters, Mrs. Paul (Annie) Schulz, Mrs. J. M. (Alice) Hynes, Mrs. Robin (Emma) Otis, Mrs. Archie (Ethel) Rasmussen, and Mrs. Robert (Florence) Triplett, all of Tacoma; three sons, Clarence, of San Diego, Robert, of Tacoma, and William of Spokane; 21 grandchildren; 40 great-grandchildren and three great great grandchildren. Services will be announced by Mountain View Funeral Home.

"Robin E. Otis, 64, of 4412 Sunset Beach, who was killed by a train yesterday morning, was born in Glen Flora, Wis. and lived here 45 years coming from Buckley. Mr. Otis was a former Tacoma fireman, retiring in 1944 after 25 years with the department. Recently he was employed by a builders' supply dealer. He was a member of the Methodist Church; Horace Taylor Lodge No. 290, F&AM; Tyler Chapter No. 248, OES; Evergreen Council No. 6, Daughters of America (Olympia); and the Teamsters Union Local 313."
"Surviving are his wife, Emma G., two daughters, Mrs. Fred A. Clark of Tacoma and Mrs. Floyd E. Davies of Bremerton; a son Robin E. Jr. of Tacoma; a sister, Mrs. A. A. Nordeen of Tacoma; a brother, Glenn, also of Tacoma; and eight grandchildren."
