To our frineds and business associates:
It is with regret that we announce the death of Mr. John Chapman, which event occurred at the Hampton Sanitarium, Tampa, Florida, on Saturday evening, January 7th, 1911. Mr. Chapman was the senior member of the firm of John Chapman & Son, of Plant City, FL, General Contractors. The undersigned, as the surviving partner, expects to continue the business founded by his father, along the same lines as heretofore.
On behalf of the family of the late John Chapman, as well as myself, I desire to express the sincere appreciation for any and all kindnesses shown my father during his life time.

Mike, I did some more digging. There was no Joe. It was Zoe, born in 1884, and another daughter of John Francis and Lavina Anne. Zoe died giving birth to Celia Zoe. Ada and Hugh Wear raised Celia Zoe. And there was a James, also, who was born in 1880. I think he is the one who died when a boy. So, the children of John Francis and Lavina Anne were Edgar, James, Ada, Leona, Zoe, Vida, and John Byron. Hope this helps straighten things out.
