William Franklin Strickland, 71, died this morning at his residence, 2013 Kay Avenue, following an illness of several months. He is survived by his wife, three daughters, Mrs. J. L. Goodbread and Mrs. C.H. Miller, Brunswick and Mrs. Norman Tucker, Washington, GA;   three sons, R. L. Strickland and Alvin Strickland, both of Brunswick, and Paul Strickland, Denver, Colorado; four brothers, A. V. Strickland, Augusta, GA  and G.W. Strickland, Savannah; and one sister, Mrs. Ella Gordon, Jacksonville.  Funeral arrangements will be announced later by the Gibson-Hart Funeral Home.                   
                       
Rites tomorrow for W. F. Strickland
Funeral services for William Franklin Strickland will be held tomorrow afternoon at 3:30 o'clock at the Advent Christian Church with the Rev. Harold Wilson officiating assisted by the Rev. N.H. Naswall. Mr. Strickland, a veteran of the Spanish-American War, passed away following an extended illness. He was 71. Active pallbearers will be C. H. Strickland, Jr., Edwin Strickland, Lavone Strickland, Francis Krauss, D.C. Jordan, and W. D. Hutchinson. An honorary escort will be composed of Spanish War veterans, T. B. Eberhart, C.P. Dusenberry, A.M. Ross, M.E. Dart, R.J. Churchill, J.C. Garria, W. E. Jones, T.M. Mrocakowske, J.W. Miller, O. D. Hamsel, Hubert Lang, J. W. Meadows, J. L. Strickland , J. Q. McMillan and W. F. Hill. Interment will follow in Palmetto cemetery with full military honors. The Gibson-Hart Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.

He was a lumberman and worked at planning mill.

Herbert F. Strickland, 43, died today at his residence, 2027 Kay Avenue.  He had been ill health for the past few months. Mr. Strickland is survived by his parents, Mr. and Mrs. W.F. Strickland; two brothers Paul Strickland of Savannah and Raymond Strickland of this city, and three sisters, Mrs. Norman Tucker, Washington, GA  Mrs. C. B. Moore and G. L. Goodbread, of this city.  Mr. Strickland was born and reared in this city and had a large number of friends who will regret to learn of his death. Funeral arrangements will be announced later by Gibson--Hart Funeral Home.

Funeral Saturday
Funeral services for Herbert F. Strickland, who died Thursday morning, will be held Saturday morning at 11 o'clock at the Advent Christian Church, to be conducted by the Rev. Mr. Monday of Jacksonville. Burial will be in Palmetto Cemetery.  The pallbearers will be C.F.Pickren,  J.W.Meadows, Claude Owens, Sam Hendrix, Paul Varnedore and Bill Drury.

The funeral for Lucille Strickland Drury, 60, life-long resident of Glynn County who died Tuesday after an extended illness, will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday at the Norwich Street Baptist Church. Interment will follow at Palmetto Cemetery, and the Rev. John Hunt and the Rev. Orvil Ferris will officiate. She was a member of the Norwich Street Baptist Church, and the Shining Light Sunday School Class. She was also a member of the Grey Ladies Volunteers Group at the Brunswick hospital, and a volunteer with the Red Cross Blood Mobile. She is survived by her husband, William L. Drury; daughters, Polly Overstreet, Carol Kirkland, Elaine Henderson and Donna Douberly all of Brunswick; eight grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Carroll Dobbs, Bill Diffie, Frank L. Taylor, A.M. Drury Jr., Jimmy Manor and Bobby Manor. Honorary pallbearers will be Maurice McClain and members of the Shining Light Sunday School Class. The family will be at 2180 Atkinson St, and at Chapman Funeral Chapel tonight from 7:30 to 9 p.m.  Chapman Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Cecil E. Strickland 61, died yesterday in Orlando, FL after a brief illness. He was born in Glynn County, the son of the late James E. and Pauline Anderson Strickland, and had lived here most of his life. He was a maintenance supervisor. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Barbara Kelly of Montgomery, AL; three grandchildren; two sisters, Mrs. C.P. Manor and Mrs. W. L. Drury, both of Brunswick.

Funeral services will be held at 3:30 p. m. tomorrow in the Chapel of the Gibson-Hart-Durden Funeral Home. The Rev. J. Elvin Reeves will officiate, and interment will be in Palmetto cemetery. Active pallbearers will be Jennings Overstreet, Roy Henderson, Johnny Kirkland, Jimmy Manor, Bobby Manor and Carroll Dobbs. Honorary will be Emory Manor, Lester Jenkins, Adie Allen, Jennings Manor, William Diffee, Jimmy Ward and Robert Quinnelly. The family will be at 2100 Townsend Street.  Gibson-Hart=Durden Funeral Home is in charge.

Barbara Strickland Kelley, 68, of Brunswick died Thursday. The funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at Edo Miller and Sons Funeral Home with the Rev. Lewis Norwood officiating.  Burial will follow at Palmetto Cemetery. Pallbearers are Stan English, Don Peters, Donald Gleaton, Tom Fisher, Don Brunell and Mark Bearden.
The family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Brunswick Seventh Day Adventist Church Building Fund or Hospice of the Golden Isles.

Surviving are her husband, Robert D, "Bob" Kelley of Brunswick; two sons, Stephen D. Kelley of Brunswick and Paul R. Kelley of Abington, Va.; one daughter, Susan Kelley Ramsey of Charlotte, N.C.; her mother, Ruby Steel Barnes of Brunswick; and seven grandchildren. Mrs. Kelley was a native of Glynn County and lived here most of her life. She was a retired schoolteacher and a member of Coastal Republicans Women's Club and Brunswick Seventh Day Adventist Church.
