Brunswick - James Christopher Chapman, 71, died Saturday, April 6, 2002 at St. Vincents Hospital in Jacksonville, FL.Mr. Chapman was a native of Brantley County but had lived in Glynn County most of his life. He served in the U. S. Navy for six years. He was employed at Badcock and Wilcox where he retired after 29 years of service. He was a member of the Masonic Lodge #717 and a plank owner in the U. S. Navy Memorial. He was a member of Taylors United Methodist Church and loved gardening, hunting, fishing and reading.
Mr. Chapman was preceded in death by his father, Walton Elton Chapman, mother, Nellie Elizabeth Drawdy Chapman and a daughter, Jody Ann Chapman. Survivors: wife, Theresa Chapman of Brunswick; daughters and sons-in-law, Jamilene and Doug Maulden of Brunswick, Katherine Ann and Pierce A. Rogers of Savannah and Joyce Elizabeth and Dallas Whitted of Canton; sisters, Carolyn Francis Hall of Pensacola, FL and Ida Mae Welch of Savannah; grandson, Christopher Daniel Maulden of Brunswick; granddaughter, Rachel Nicole Whitted of Canton and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral is at 11:00 a. m. Wednesday, April 10 in the Chapel of Edo Miller & Sons Funeral Home, Rev. Ron Smith officiating. Active Pallbearers: Mike Goodbread, James Jones, Sonny Livingston, Tony Hutcheson, Thomas Dixon and Jody Grimes. Honorary Pallbearers: Svend Hansen, Bill Welch, J. L. Grimes, Russell Hall, James Davis, the Doctors and Staff of Southeast GA Regional Medical Center and St. Vincents Hospital in Florida.
