John Wise was arrested in 1780 by the Engliah Army for aiding and comforting local rebels (South Carolina Militia soldiers) during the American Revolutionary War. A documented officer's record was found that confirms that John Wise, RS-SC Militia was arrested, imprisioned, and died aboard an English prison ship in Charleston Harbor that same year.
