Robert Berry HARRISON

Robert. B. Harrison Dies Early Today In City Hospital
Robert Berry Harrison, 77, a resident of Brunswick practically all of his life, passed away at the City Hospital early today. He had been ill for several weeks.

Funeral services will be held at the Norwich Street Baptist church Tuesday morning at 11 o'clock, and will be conducted by the Rev. Brooks Wester. Burial will be in Palmetto cemetery under the direction of the Miller Funeral Home. Pallbearers will be Brad Farrell, Jimmie Bisson, Nick Harris, Raymond Moore, John Cowman, and G.L. Rogers.

Mr. Harrison was born in Wayne County, but removed to Brunswick with his family when about two years of age.  He at one time served as a city policeman and also as a member of the local fire department, and for many years was superintendent of the old plant of the Glynn Canning Company. He was a member of the Norwich Street Baptist church. Survivors include three sons, A. V. Harrison, Brunswick, Robert J. Harrison, Morgan City, La., and Lieut. J.B. Harrison, U.S. Marine Corps, Washington; four daughters, Mrs. Georgia Rowe and Miss Hester Harrison, Brunswick; Mrs. Constant Johansson, Morgan City; Mrs. Lucille Faircloth, Darien, and one sister, Mrs. Julia Strickland, Brunswick. Nineteen grandchildren also survive.

MRS. HARRISON DIED YESTERDAY FUNERAL TUESDAY
Mrs. Hester Elizabeth Harrison, a resident of Brunswick and Glynn county all of her life, passed away early Sunday morning at the family residence on the Coastal Highway in the northern section of the city.  She had been ill for some time.

Mrs. Harrison was the wife of Robert B. Harrison, and she had a large circle of friends who will be bereaved to learn of her death.  She was born in Glynn county July 4 1893, and resided here all of her life.

Besides her husband, she is survived by three children, Corporal Robert J. Harrison, U.S. Army, now in North Africa; First Sergeant J. B. Harrison, U. S. Marines, Naval Air Station, Jacksonville, FL, Miss Hester Harrison, and the following stepchildren: Alfred Harrison and Mrs. M. Rowe, of this city; Mrs. Knute Johannson, Morgan City, La., and Mrs. John Faircloth, of Darien. Other survivors include one brother and two sisters,  19 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Funeral services will be held at 4 o'clock Tuesday afternoon at Norwick Street Baptist church, to be conducted by the Rev. C.H. Moss, and burial will be in Palmetto cemetery.  The following will serve as pallbearers: Horace Symons, Jim Bennett. H.F. DuBigmon, Perry Whitney, J.F. Henderson and Rex Deavor.  Arrangements are in charge of mortician Edo Miller.

Funeral services for Mrs. Carrie E. Gordon Saxon, 53, will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday in the Chapel of Hardage and Sons Northside Funeral Home, 34th and Main Streets with  the Rev. John R. Bogers, officiating, burial will be at 2 p.m. Tuesday in Palmetto cemetery, Brunswick, GA.
