Family tradition has it that Octavia and Martha Jane were two different people.
Comment by Vera Mallon: Prospect Primitive Baptist Church records, census, court records document Luvicy as first wife, Rachel Johnson as second. Census, deed of selling Jeremiah's land documents his heirs, as heirs &/or their spouses sign.
Riley Johns died intestate in Baker Co., FL. His heirs made a deed to William J. Raulerson on 13 Dec 1881 for estate lands in Baker Co.(Deed Book A, Page 556). There was also a deed to Wm. J. Johns on 14 Nov 1877 for 80 acres of land (DB A, page 275). Riley Johns was County Commissioner of Baker County from 1 May 1864 to 1865.
He served as a Private under Capt. James Jones in 1840 in the Indian Wars. He was baptized into the High Bluff Primitive Baptist Church in Camden Co., GA on 13 Aug 1843. His wife was received by letter 10 Jun 1843. Both were discharged by letter 8 Nov 1845, establishing the time of the family's move to Florida.
