B,M: Bio. of Truman S. Osborn-13002
This is believed to be the same John Wiseman who was captured
by the Shawnee Indians and appeared on a list of prisoners
going to Ft. Pitt under the command of Captain Charles Lewis,
November 25, 1764 after being released. He is believed to be
the same John Wiseman who settled in Nelson Co. Kentucky in
1785. He was a prominent farmer and surveyor

It is believed that Philip and Mary came to Indiana shortly
after his
mother and John Mauck arrived. It is probable that in 1811,
they lived first
east of Corydon. They later purchased 160 acres of land
southwest of Corydon.
They had five children; all were born in Virginia.
John was shot by Morgan's Raiders but survived to raise a
family. However, his father Peter was killed by the same group
