After Thomas died, Christena married a widower, Matthias
PAINTER. He died in 1802 and Christena married John MAUCK.
Later they sold their land and moved to Harrison Co., IN. They
arrived in the fall of 1811 and settled at
what is now Mauckport.
John established the first ferry service on the Ohio
River between Brandenburg, KY and Indiana. Mauckport was named
after John Mauck. John was buried in a cemetery east of
Mauckport at Lick Run Bridge.
This cemetery no longer exists. Christena was buried at Cross
Roads Cemetery.
Later, most of Christena's children followed her to INDIANA.
