"Memorial services for Iona I. Blakely, 87, were held Saturday, February 24, at the Bethany Presbyterian Church, Grants Pass, Oregon, with Rev. Steve Parker officiating. Mrs. Blakely died February 19, 1996, at the Grants Pass health center. Iona Illa Warren Blakely was born October 1, 1908, at Atlantic, Iowa,
where she was raised. She graduated from Atlantic High School in 1926, then taught at Brushy Point School (3 miles east of Atlantic) for nearly three years. On April 1, 1931, near Atlantic, she was married to Virgil C. Blakely. From 1945 to 1957, she and her husband farmed near Reinbeck, Oregon. They lived in Northridge, California, for ten years before moving to Grants Pass in 1969. Iona was a licensed cosmetologist, had obtained her real estate license, and was an accomplished hand china painter. She was a member of many clubs and belonged to Bethany Presbyterian Church in Grants Pass."
Internment was in Grants Pass Oregon.
