ca 0-200  Roman settlement on Goeree.
ca 700  Christianity is brought to the island by Anglo-Saxon missionaries.
ca 700-1000 Ouddorp becomes a reality.
1105 Earliest offical data concern a Pastor van Fornhe.
12th century Badeloch van Diksmijde gifts the Abbey of Ten Duinen with the island Bommenede along with some land on Westvoorne.
1189 Pope Clemens III approves the right of the Abbey of Ter Doest to own properties in Westvoorne.
ca 1318 Ouddorp becomes a diocese.
ca 1348 The Ouddorp Church's earliest construction.
1450 Goedereede becomes a separate diocese with help from Frank van Borselen, widower of Jacoba of Bavaria.
1490 Jonker Frans van Brederoode orders the partial demolition of Ouddorp's church and tower, possibly the original top. He takes several Ouddorpers hostage.
1496 Menno Simons is born.
1505 Goedereede adds a tower to the church
1534 Jan Joosten from Goedereede, Anabaptist teacher is sentenced and beheaded in Amsterdam.
1561 Menno Simons dies.
1574 The Reformation has arrived on the island. The first service is held on April 9. The first minister is Ds Adriaan Allardi Jansen.
1577 Ouddorp's second minister is Ds. A. Johannis
1595-1597 Ouddorp's third minister is Ds. Jacobus Cornet. Ouddorp's flock is now separate from Goedereede's.
1597-1619 Minister (NH) C. Dammannus
1620 First reference to the Mennonites (Doopsgezinden) in the archives. They meet in an attic.

1647 Goeree authorities try to force the Doopsgezinden to bear arms.
1649 Doopsgezinden celebrate the Last Supper at someone's home (Achterhuis)

1677 Ouddorp's east side succumbs to flames. Ouddorp Church and tower suffer severe damage.

1714 Doopgezinden raise Fl 60 for Polish Prussia.

1816 The Ouddorp Church is renamed from "Gereformeerde Kerk" to "Nederlands Hervormde Kerk"

1852 Some Doopgezinden want to pack up for America , the idea is resisted. The proponent does leave, taking part of the church treasury..

1857 The Church peak, originally white then painted red, is replaced by a mini spire.
