Graveside services for George Washington Tenant III, age 61, of Nacogdoches, were held Monday, May 3, at Refuge Cemetery, east of Grapeland, with Rev. Jim Lowry officiating. Arrangements were under the direction of Bailey & Foster Grapeland.

Mr. Tenant died Friday, April 30, 1999, in a Shreveport, Louisiana, Hospital. He was born February 24, 1938, in Houston County to George Washington Tenant II and Elmer Allen tenant. Mr. Tenant Had worked as a store clerk and was a Baptist.

Survivors include one sister, Helen Betts of Corpus Christi; one brother, Charles Andrew Tenant of Crockett; and nieces and nephews.
