A.S. HARRINGTON & WIFE to Wm. GIBSON

KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That we, A.S. Harrington and Absolena Harrington, wife of the said A.S. Harrington, residents of the said County of Trinity and State of Texas, in consideration of the sum of ($2000) Two thousand Dollars, to us in hand paid by W.M. Gibson, also a resident of said County and State first above written, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, have granted, bargained, sold and released and by these present do grant, bargain, sell, release and convey unto the said W.M. Gibson all that certain tract or parcel of land known and described as follows, to-wit:

Said tract of land containing (200) two hundred acres of land, being situated about one-half mile from the town of Trinidad and the same distance from the Trinity River, in said County of Trinity, and bounded as follows:

On the West and North by land owned by the heirs of B.F. Wright, deceased; and on the east by land owned by Mrs. Agnes Harrison, relict of the late William H. Harrison, deceased, and formerly the widow of John Tucker, Deceased. Said place being known as the Tucker place; said Tucker place not bounding it entirely on the East; the remainder of the Eastern portion of said land being bounded by the place known as the George Millican place, being the place on which the surviving widow now resides, and the place that the said George Millican bought from Hallbrooks, and which place, to-wit: The George Millican place bounds said tract of land also on the South, and which tract of land was conveyed to the said A.S. Harrington by A.G. Teas and Ann Eliza Teas by deed of conveyance, bearing date of the 27th day of August, A.D. 1851, and which is duly recorded in Book "A", Pages 243 & 244 of the records of Deeds for Trinity County, to which reference is hereby made for a full description of said land. And the said W.M. Givson is to have and to hold said land, together with, all and singular, the rights, members, hereditaments and appurtenances to the same belonging or in anywise incident or appertaining.

TO HAVE AND TO HOLD, all and singular, the premises above mentioned, unto the said W.M. Gibson, his heirs and assigns, forever. And we do hereby bind ourselves, executors and administrators to warrant and forever defend, all and singular, the said premises unto the said W.M. Gibson, his heirs and assigns, against every person whomsoever lawfully claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof.

IN TESTIMONY OF WHICH, Witness our seals and signatures, the seals being scrolls, this 6th day of February, A.D. 1871.

BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, this day personally came, A.S. Harrington, who to me is well known and whose signature appears to the above and foregoing deed of conveyance or instrument of writing and who acknowledged to me that he had signed, sealed and delivered the same for all the purposes and considerations therein set forth and expressed. And at the same time also appeared Absolena Harrington, wife of the said A.S. Harrington, and who to me is also known and whose signature also appears to said deed of conveyance above set forth, and who after being examined by me separate and apart from her said husband acknowledged to me that she had signed, sealed and delivered said instrument of writing or deed of conveyance for all the purposes and considerations therein set forth and expressed and that she wished not to retract the same. Said deed having been read over and explained to her, that she had willingly signed the same without fear or compulsion from her said husband.

TO CERTIFY WHICH, Witness my official seal and signature at office in the town of Newport this the 6th day of February, A.D. 1871.
