KNOW ALL MEN BY THESE PRESENTS: That we, the undersigned A.B. Harington and Elmira Harington, wife of A.B. Harington, of the County and State aforesaid, have this ____, for and in consideration of the sum of Five Hundred Dollars, to us in hand paid by John E. English, the receipt whereof is hereby acknowlege, have bargained, sold, released and conveyed, and do by these present transfer, release and convey unto John E. English, his heirs and assigns, of the County of Trinity and State of Texas, all of a certain tract or parcel of of land lying and being in Trinity County and State of Texas, and described as follows:
On the waters of Piny Creek, about 18 miles North of the town of Sumpter, and known as the WILLIAM RIDDLE pre-emption survey, and proven up in this County June 30th, A.D. 1871, in accordance with an Act approved March 24th, 1871, and for further particulars reference is here made to field notes and Pattent now in the Land Office at Austin.
The same unto John E. English, his heirs and assigns, forever, to have and to hold, together with all and singular the rights, tenements and hereditaments to the same belonging or in anyway appertaining. And we do hereby forever warrant and defend the title to the same against all persons claiming or pretending to claim the same or any part thereof.
IN TESTIMOMY WHEREOF, we have hereunto set our hands and seals, using scrall for seal, this the 12th day of Feb'y, A.D. 1877.

BEFORE ME, the undersigned authority, this day personally A.B. Harrington, who is to me well known, who acknowledged that he signed, sealed and the above and forgoing deed for all the purposes & considerations therein set forth. And also at the same time personally appeared Elmira Harington, wife of the said A.B. Harington, and party to said deed, who, being examined separate and apart from her said husband, and the contents of said deed being explained to her by me, acknowledged that she signed the same of her own free will and accord, and whished not to retract it.
TO CERTIFY WHICH, I hereto set my hand and official seal, this the 12th Feb'y, 1876.
