SHERIFF'S DEED

L.H. HARRINGTON by Sheriff to R. MCDONALD

THE STATE OF TEXAS

Trinity County

Know all men by these presents: That whereas, by virtue of a certain order of sale issued out of the District Court of the County of Trinity, in favor of W.J. Rodgers vs. L.H. Harrington on certain judgement and decree of sales, rendered on the 18th day of March 1893, and directed and delivered to me, as Sheriff of Trinity County, commanding me to sell the premises described in said order of sale. I, D.J. Campbell, Sheriff as aforesaid, did upon the 5 day of April 1893, advertise the said premises as described in said order of sale by giving public notice of the time and place of sale, by causing and advertisement thereof to be posted up at three public places in said County aforesaid, one of which was the Court House door of said County, for twenty days previous to said sale, thereof, and on the first Tuesday in May A.D. 1893, within the hours prescribed by law, sold said premises at public vendue in the County of Trinity, at the Court House door, thereof. The premises hereinafter described were struck off to R. McDonald for the sum of Ninety five Dollars, he being the highest bidder therefore, and that being the highest bid for the same.

Now therefore, in consideration of the premises aforesaid and of the payment of the said sum of Ninety five Dollars, the receipt of which is hereby acknowledged, I, D.J. Campbell, Sheriff as aforesaid, have sold and by these presents, do grant and convey unto the said R. McDonald all of the Estate, right, title and interest which the said L.H. Harrington had on the 18 day of March 1893, or at any time afterwards, in and to the following named premises, as described in the order of sale, viz: Situated in Trinity County, Texas, on the waters of Trinity River about several miles East of the town of Trinity, a part of the T.K. Hadley one third of a league headright, and beginning on the W.B. line of said on third league, at the North East corner of a 400 acre survey made for Joshua Williams, B and Anthony Hadley at a stake from which a pipe 16 inches in dia. marked "D" bears n. 46 E 1 4/10 vrs. Thence S 15 E with the line of said 400 acre survey 2385 vrs. to a Slough, a stake from which a sweet gum, bears N. by E6 365 vrs. from the Trinity River where the original corner stands. Thence down said Slough North 86 East 503 vrs. to Black Locust from which a Pin Oak marked X bears WW 5 vrs. Thence N. 15 W 2480 vrs. intersecting the W.B. line of said one third league grant a stake from which an ash 10 inches in dia marked "D" bears N 89 E 9 vrs. Thence 75 W with said W.B. line 491 vrs. to the place of beginning and containing 200 acres of land more or less.

To have and to hold the above described premises, unto the said R. McDonald, his heirs and assigns, forever, as fully and as absolute as I as Sheriff as aforesaid can convey by virtue of said order of sale.

Campbell, Sheriff Trinity County, Texas, to me well known to be the person whose name is subscribed to the foregoing instrument and acknowledged that he executed the foregoing deed for the purposes, considerations and in the capacity therein set forth and expressed, which acknowledgement was made to me as Notary Public as aforesaid.
