OBITUARY OF DANIEL WILSON STANLEY

"REV. D.W. STANLEY, PRIMITIVE BAPTIST PREACHER, IS DEAD

At his home near Cross Roads, Tuesday afternoon at 2:30 o’clock, Rev. D.W. Stanley died from the infirmities of old age having attained the ripe age of 86 years.

Rev. Stanley was born in Arkansas, but came to Texas when he was three years of age, and has been a continuous resident of this county since that time.

For 46 years he has been a Primitive Baptist Preacher.

He is survived by five daughters and three sons, viz: Mrs. J.H. Combs of Godlet, Texas; Mrs. J.V. Goins of Omaha; Mrs. Lucindy Stegall of Pritchett; amd M.D. Stanley, of Tyler: M.J. Stanley of Pritchett and J.L. Stanley of Pritchett. He is also survived by one brother, R.H. Stanley of Wood County and one sister, Mrs. Mealer of Pritchett.

Rev. Stanley was a Confederate Veteran having served in the Civil War.

He was well known throughout the county and greatly esteemed and his death will be learned with deep regret by a large circle of relatives and friends.

His funeral took place on Wednesday afternoon and his remains interred at New Hope Cemetery."
